Hello everyone! Here is a Friday Phone Fun style call for action from our partners at Campaign 2000 and the Code Blue to save child care campaign. As it focuses on encouraging our Premier, Dalton McGuinty, to speak out before next week's Federal budget (May 2) on the need, and the majority of most parent's desire for the federal government to continue to provide stable, multi-year funding for early learning and care, I ask you all to pick up your phones and dial!! Or email - the address is below, and if you email, please cc our Minister responsible for child care, Mary-Anne Chambers - thanks! We’re asking for your help before the Tuesday May 2 federal budget to: · Call/email Premier McGuinty at Tel 416-325-1941 email Dalton.mcguinty@premier.gov.on.ca · Ask him, as a key Canadian Premier, to make a public statement before the federal budget urging Prime Minister Harper to include in the budget multi-year funding of $1.2 billion to build a high quality, accessible, affordable community-based child care system. · If emailing, copy your message to Minister of Children’s Services, Mary Anne Chambers at meg.connell@mcys.gov.on.ca or leave a message for Minister too at 416-212-7432 We are told that Provincial Premiers might be the most effective voices at this point, so we would like you to take 2 minutes to call/email the Ontario Premier to ask him to keep up the public pressure for investment in the public child care program for which 64% of Canadians voted.
